The invited architect for LIGA 09 was Eduardo Castillo, from Chile. Eduardo proposes an architecture that collects images until it becomes a sort of sculptural space area full of references. For each work he points the relation between the exterior and the interior.  According to his architectural worldview, exterior sets the relationships that will have with its interior. An architecture almost naked, but actually contains its own context.

By this ideology, Eduardo Castillo, intervenes LIGA 09: a wood structure besieges a space in opacity that invites us, not look it as piece of art, but to occupy it.

In our facilities we offered a cocktail sponsored by Único Spirits and the director of Archivo, Regina Pozo, gave a guided tour for all the people invited through the exhibition ” Assembly Manual” curated by the invited architectural studio, PRODUCTORA.

The 3rd edition of La Ruta de Galerías will be the first saturday of October, and again it propose to create new forms of exchange and production of ideas in plurality from one interest: to be together.

Again, Ediciones Hungría challenge the editorial standards exploring other formats. This publication shows that the bidimensional design represented in the walls with sprays reflects the cultural context where they come. Each Tim becomes a collection piece because it is a limited edition handmade produced.

Archivo wants to thank Ediciones Hungría the donation of Tim,piece which complements the toy category of the Archivo collection.

The topic that started the conversation were the representation techniques used by some painters from centuries ago, and the introduction of photography allowed a preciser perception.This does not absolve the subjects portrayed to be an accomplice of the type of appreciation the photographer want to show. The practice of a great architectural photographer like Rafael Gamo seeks a balance between great aesthetics and objectivity that  a space deserves.

Jorge Diego Etienne and  Ian Ortega explained the decision of working as a cooperative and the 7 core values under which they operate.

Their first collection would be exhibited on May 2013, in the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) because they considered one of the greatest showcases besides the huge challenge it represents.

The audience asked the reason of  doing a cooperative and not a collective and the differences in the results. Another of the questions was its intention to show in an foreigner fair like the ICFF and not in Mexico and if this would have involved a different way of working as cooperative.

We are strongly convinced that the combined efforts of the seven designers working as PANORÁMICA will mark a watershed in the way of making design in México also that will inspire future generations to experience design.

We want to thank PANORÁMICA and the audience for making possible the Archivo’s number 08 session.

We commission Adam Wiseman to document the manufacturing process  the object  follows in the Cerámica Contreras, workshop located at the south of Mexico City.

Archivo Pavilion will open on April 8, 2013 at 17hrs within Zona MACO activities.
